Guide · getting started
Your first short link,
from paste to share.
A simple guide to sharing something useful, without the clutter.
Make the destination clear.
A short link is a small address that points people to a longer destination. Give it a title in your workspace so you can find it again. Use a custom ending only when it makes the link easier to recognize.
Create first. Save when it matters.
Paste the full destination into the home page and create your link. Copy it immediately, or create a free account to keep it in your library. Saving the link gives you ownership, editing controls, and private analytics.
Take your link into the real world.
A QR code can encode the destination itself or an owned short link. Print a visible URL below the pattern as a helpful fallback, while preserving the blank margin around the code. Test the finished print at the size people will actually scan.
Read the numbers with context.
Requests are not the same as people. Some visits are automated previews or bots. Approximate country information can help you understand distribution, but it does not identify a visitor. Direct or unknown sources are a normal part of referral reporting.
Keep the experience trustworthy.
Use recognizable destinations, avoid deceptive labels, and update outdated campaigns. When a link is no longer needed, pause it deliberately rather than quietly moving it to an unrelated destination.
